First paper from my dissertation out in American Midland Naturalist!

I am delighted to announce that the first paper from my Ph.D. dissertation is now out in American Midland Naturalist.  This is "Current and historical extent of phenotypic variation in the Tufted and Black-crested Titmouse (Paridae) hybrid zone in the southern Great Plains" (Curry and Patten 2014).  This paper covers my second chapter and features a map of the current extent of the hybrid zone with previous records from Dixon's original 1955 monograph on the titmouse hybrid zone.  We also compare cline widths and do quantitative analyses of the plumage and morphology of the two populations.  Please check it out!
